Been a while eh. That's what lethargy, surreal shifts and a lack of cash will do for a music journal. So. We've had, what, three Singles days? A couple I had to miss due to lack of funds but I've picked up a few things. I got a couple of Amerie singles, 1 Thing and Touch. I don't mind Amerie and it's good to have, in Ciara and Amerie, some R+B singers who put their name to good singles with good production more than once. Rather than a dozen one hit wonders. Plus, they are both stupid fine.

We also stocked up on Elbow since it's been so long since they lit up our lives and lets be honest the last album wasn't a patch on the first. It was nice, sure, but not the same. I'm gonna be listening to those next so fingers crossed. At the moment I'm listening to Jac-de-de-jac-de-jac-de-de-la-muzak. I used to adore this tune but I didn't like the album enough to buy it. Now, thanks to a very pretty looking car advert it's back on the shelves! Horrah! I love it when a plan comes together. I'm on track four and I swear they seem to be just the same song at different lengths. I can hear some funky house drums behind this one but I don't know for definite if they're not just in the original. Call yourself a remix? Puff Daddy invented the remix, mate.

We also got a couple of albums. I know, I know, but I couldn't really avoid these as I've been waiting for them for months. I finally have Bloc Party's remix album, so I can finally listen to Mogwai and Four Tet's remixes. Plus a few others, like Automato (who are shit) and Engineers (who are also shit). (Oh well). There are also remixes by Erol Alkan and, horray, Ladytron. Who we love. Finally I picked up Magnet's 7inch last month, which was a double gatefold 2 disc single, for three quid, which was limited edition coloured vinyl plus an extra limited edition (only 200 of the singles included it) signed lyric sheet. Which was pretty. I love Magnet's sleeve designs usually and the single was no exception. The album was an exception though, a bit too commercial for my liking. I hope the album is good, though. The last one, his debut, didn't live up to the world conquering quality of his preceding EPs but was still good. The singles for this one have been, underwhelming but I still adore the man so. We'll see.

After that this month I only have a few singles, the Broadcast album and Run The Road 2 to buy, though. Fingers crossed for a cheap month. Geeze.
