Coming atcha now two days late (I've been unwell, leave me alone), here are a few records I've considered worthy of a spin or two. Audioscrobbler has been pretty unrepresentative lately of my actual listening habits so I'd better redress.

editors note. last week newcomers sunshine underground missed out on the chart by nothing more than oversight. since then that oversight has been rectified and they've just been deemed not good enough for inclusion.

the chart is pretty misleading actually. a week of staying at home has meant not much club music so amerie, audiobullys and lil jon while all still up there haven't really had an outing. maybe another week of that will see them drop. also, i didn't listen to a huge amount of music last week, despite getting a fair bit and a fair bit of good music too.

interesting new entries include a couple by editors, revisited after the release of their album - maybe others from that will find their way into the chart as i start to give them some actual airtime. the same can be said for other chart newboys idiot pilot. the game and ciara rise in the chart after releasing their singles and are joined by other single release boa vs python. after that it's pretty much business as usual but, as i say, i haven't been listening to much.

the real surprise is sticky's all i wanna do, the completely unknown track featuring some unknown artist that i can't find anywhere online and only have as a neutered version on some magazine covermounted mix cd. a fantastic little r+b number, perhaps a little too subtle in its infectiousness for the charts it, instead of being given the chance to prove me wrong, flounders in absolute obscurity. will it survive or will it fall off the chart completely?

oh, i did forget dr dre's bad intentions which has been absolutely parachuted in at nine. i actually bought this, along with bloc party's the pioneers (tunng's version for some reason called "junng version") on itunes. bit of a step for me but oh well. i got these along with montell jordan's this is how we do it and now lumidee's never leave you. one new track and three absolute r+b classics, montell being on my list for about seven years now (the album just never being an enticing enough prospect at any price) and similar dre's being a single i loved on release.

i've actually, though, of all the hip hop tracks i've heard and liked (dozens and dozens of them there are), been singing bad intentions to myself a lot over the past few months without any chance of getting it, until now. which is why it features so highly. i reckon montell will be in there next week. because, y'know. this is how we do it.
